So, what is NAD? Scientifically known as Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide... Wow what a name and what a amazing Molecule. NAD is known as the "Helper Molecule". This helper binds with other enzymes in the body to help slow down the aging and the negative effects of chronic disease development. This can help with muscle loss and fatigue along with many other disorders.
By the age of 20 the brain tissue in our bodies begin to drop and by the age of 40 research also shows the levels in our skin also begin to decline. Research today is showing that NAD supports the healing of brain tissue, blood vessels, repair DNA, and help reverse mitochondrial decay.
It's important to know that NAD is a natural occurying coenzyme found in animals, humans, yeast, and basically all living things. These coenzymes are needed in order for all enzymes to work throughout in our bodies.
What is the difference between NAD & NAD+?
NAD+ is written with a superscript + symbol because it has a positive interaction in the nitrogen atoms. Basically, being the oxidized form of NAD to help accept electrons from other molecules. Think of a molecule donating an electron to your other molecule, once this has been performed the NAD becomes NAD+.
This procedure is done under careful watch in our office. What to expect when starting NAD+.
- We monitor your vitals before and after
- You relax in our lounge under watchful eye of the Agave Staff.
- The provider explains the benefits of NAD+
- This procedure is the same as IV Therapy, meaning we place an IV catheter, connect you to a bag of saline and begin treatment using a dial flow (control the drip rate). Once you are familiar with the dial flow you can then control the rate in which you receive NAD+. Of course, if you do not feel comfortable, we can always help control and monitor the drip rate for you.
